I actually never though Lady Fantasy was the best track of the Mirage record, still like it more then Genesis though.

Firth, but Lady Fantasy is one of Camel's best songs.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

Ladt Fantasy, that riff can get stuck in my head for weeks at a time. Firth is nice, especially the middle of the track.

What is happening there between 4:30 and 8 minutes is an absolute madness! How was it ever possible to make it back then in 1973, I wonder?

Genesis, Firth of Fifth.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

"Firth ... ". I found Camel's playing on/writing of "Lady Fantasy" rather underwhelming.

Two of the best songs in prog (well, for me, there are lot's of those, though), and I find it really hard to choose. Firth of Fifth is one of those songs that could define perfection... every single moment of the song is wonderful, and it moves on from part to part, yet it all flows smoothly from one perfect musical moment to another. Yet, Lady Fantasy is not inferior at all, and it's got an emotional plus that really moves me. I'm going with Lady Fantasy, mainly because I've known it for less time and thus it's still more fresh to me, and I feel more inclined towards hearing that one, plus it's vastly out-voted here.
