When taking in to account solo material and all the acts they've been involved with, who do you prefer as an artist?

Driver. Mostly for Kayo Dot.

Toby Driver is the bandleader and main composer of Kayo Dot, Maudlin of the Well, Tartar Lamb and a couple other projects

Michael Gira is the bandleader and main composer of Swans, Angels of Light, World of Skin and a couple other projects (both of them also have solo albums)

~

They are my two favourite modern musicians and composers, I'll give the slight edge to Toby

Thanks topsoil, I probably should have posted some links and a brief description, but you got me covered.
My vote goes to Gira, the new sound and direction adds a whole new element to him as a composer and a writer, and puts him over the edge to become my favorite musician of the modern times, and maybe all times.

Yo whats your take of Coffins on IO? I heard a sample song, forgot the title, sounded, different.

Driver, by far the best composer of the last 30+ years.

To be fair I've only heard Gira from a few Swans tracks, mostly form The Seer, and they bored me silly.

Gira by far, although I do like some Kayo Dot and love Mia in an erotic way.

Still haven't been able to get into Toby's work, whereas I love almost everything Gira touches. So there you go.

Can't really comment though I loved the one track they put out.  Have it on preorder and expect extreme goodness.

Two tracks, The Mortality of Doves was put up on Soundcloud yesterday. Oct 14th just can't come soon enough for me, so far it's proving to be yet another very different direction for Driver.
