Been obsessed with the Norwegian jazz-rock/avant label Rune Grammofon of late. Which PA artist currently or formerly on the label is your favourite? Please consider all albums you've heard from these artists, and not just the ones released through Rune Grammofon. Vote away!

Agree with John here, though The Astromalist is friggin' awesome.

I wanted to say, 'Where the heck is Jaga Jazzist', but then I remembered they weren't on Rune Grammofon.

From this list I'd pick Elephant9 and Motorpsycho.

This is difficult.

Will have to think/listen it over.

Agreeing on the greatness of both but voted Jono El Grande. Neo Dada is one of my favorite albums of the 00's

I still don't know. Tongue

I'll vote for Scorch Trio but at least five could've taken it.

Motorpsycho.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

LOL Yeah, I 've been thinking the same. They're happpy at Ninja Tune, I presume. If not, Rune Grammofon would be the perfect label for them.

Hard for me not to vote for my newest favourites, Bushman's Revenge (a very exciting hard rock/metal jazz trio), but Motorpsycho's the reason I decided to check out artists from this label, and they remain my favourites of the bunch, so they get my vote.

Other RG artists I'm especially fond of (in alphabetical order): Elephant9, Jono El Grande, Panzerpappa and Ultralyd.

Funny how back in the day, I couldn't give a hoot about who's on what label, but in recent times you can tell the quality by the label - and being vinyl obsessed, RG are a great label, Inside Out, Plane Groovy, Black Widow, K-Scope etc.

Also, I think their cover art looks pretty Rune Grammofonish as well.

Seems as if I'm completely knavlen to vote in polls anymore. If I could I would've voted for Fire! Orchestra over elephant9....but only by a smidge.

Motorpsycho easily. Elephant9 a distant second.

I can't believe how varied the MP discography is, most of it very good to great. Their latest is another example of refusing to sit comfortably.
