Hello!

I'm very curious about this... Where do you buy digital music, albums or songs?
I certainly forgot obvious choices, please let me know, if you vote other, which one?

Thanks

The voting buttons don't work too good: won't let you click two or more.

I do not buy a whole lot of digital, but what I do buy comes from Amazon and BandCamp.

I think I've bought from all of these at one point or another, but most often Amazon and Bandcamp.

I like to buy from eMusic because it is generally less expensive than iTunes or Amazon, where I have also bought music.  I also like to buy from band camp.

What is this 'Digital Music' of which you speak?

(I don't generally buy it but, every now and then Amazon receive some of my hard earned cash)

I never have myself.  Just never had something I wanted that I couldn't get on CD I suppose.

Then again I have no outlet to listen to it, the only mp3 player I had went through the washing machine years ago and today have only the computer and since it is 20 ft from the stereo system I couldn't think a single reason to listen to music out of laptop computers rather than in surround sound at full throated volume. Thumbs Up

Digital music has really come in handy when an album is out of print, so physical copies are hard to come by at a reasonable price, but a digital version is still made available.  That's how I got Carla Bley's "Tropic Appetites", a really rare album that I'm glad I bought, in whatever format.  Miraculously I then found the LP for sale a year later and bought that too.

I've also decided that digital will be my preferred medium for comedy albums and audiobooks.  No need for those to take up shelf space when audio fidelity isn't really a concern (and no one's ever impressed by your comedy collection anyway).

I get digital music from bandcamp, but only when it's free (with a couple exceptions).

Interestingly, my experience is the exact opposite: among eBay, Amazon and Discogs I have never had difficulties in finding CDs I was specifically interested in.

Often used CDs cost next to nothing, especially if the cosmetics are less than NM. I couldn't care less about scuffs, as long as it plays; one doesn't buy CDs for their looks anyway.

But MP3s, at least on Amazon, they are always $0.99 a pop.

Here is an interesting phenomenon: even new CD sells for less than the MP3 version (this is the 1989 by the talented Ms. Taylor Swift), and the album is only 3 weeks old. In a couple of months used CD's will go for a couple of seashells.

I've seen a few albums on Amazon (Motorpsycho's Unicorn for one) where it's cheaper to buy the CD with a free download than it is to buy the download on its own. Confused
