Couldn't find a topic on this group, but I'm guessing there are at least a few fans of this group here.
The
Bevis Frond is the musical project of guitarist/vocalist/songwriter
Nick SALOMON. He played in psychedelic bands as early as the late 60s,
and legend has it he later began making records in his own home studio
after receiving a large cash settlement from a motorcycle accident.
Overdubbing all the stuff coming out of his considerable imagination, he
produced a number of really far-out retro psych recordings in the 80s.
Come the 90s, it gradually evolved into an actual band, and SALOMON
kept up a prolific output - not just psychedelic jams, but well-composed
songs augmented by his impressive guitar skills. Adrian SHAW
(Hawkwind) and Andy WARD (Camel) were his rhythm section for a while.
Basically a classic 60s / 70s act that just happened to record in the
80s and 90s. They're still putting out albums every couple of years,
usually double-length albums that are surprisingly consistent and
professional sounding considering the "DIY" aesthetic he's based his
career on. Early stuff:
more early stuff:
And here's a number off their most recent album.

The only one I currently have is Inner Marshland from 1987...but I have heard a few other early ones. I like his stuff and mentioned them in the 'Psych ' thread.

I recently picked up a copy of Miasma and I've been getting into it.I'll probably explore a few more albums in the near future. I don't know why I didn't pick up on them sooner, especially as Nick Saloman was also a pretty strong contestant on Countdown some years ago.

I've been very impressed with the more recent albums. They're all pretty similar sounding, but they all deliver the goods, with very little if any filler material.

I think New River Head is the best one too. That was the album that made me truly start to take him seriously. It was always just a bit of psychedelic fun before that, and then suddenly WHOA this guy really can play in the big leagues too.
