Lush vs. Low

Perhaps the most Cocteau Twins-ish of the shoegaze bands, Lush lived up to their name in providing songs with beautiful melodies and harmonic twists along with full and crisp production .


Low are considered the inventors of slowcore, which exactly as it sounds– slow, beautiful, austere. But underneath the somber atmosphere, there were also great– simple– songs.

Lush. Beautiful shoegaze and for their last album some neat britpop.

Also, I have to ask: How could Low have invented slowcore when Galaxie 500, Codeine, and Red House Painters all came before?

Galaxy 500 aren't really slowcore. As for the other two, blame Wikipedia:

Probably should have thought about Red House Painters and Codeine being prior to Low.
