Wow. Second favourite song from both artists. POAC is a clear winner though. Much better than Schizoid imo.
And what are you FIRST favourites  from these bands? Smile
Starless and Man-Erg Thumbs Up

Good choice. But I actually tend to think, that Epitaph>Starless and Lost>Man-erg.

Epitaph used to be a favourite of mine but after 200 plays it just got repetitive. Starless, on the other hand is crazy and I absolutely dig that woodblock.

Killer, but if it was up against ...Schizoid Man it would be the Fripp victory. Hand down.
And the thing was, yesterday "Killer" popped into my head out of the blue.
I haven't had moments like that for "Pictures of a City" as I usually tell my brain to play me snippets of other, better King Crimson pieces!

KC for me.....even though I own 6 VDGG albums never really warmed up to them.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

It's inarguable, that King Crimson is much better band overall, but out of these two songs, i think Killer does have a slight edge over Pictures

I'll have to pull out that VDGG album and play the track on the way to the office....but I'm betting I'll still pick KC.

ok....listened to them both again on the way to work.....still going with KC. I like the melody and structure better on the KC track......the VDGG track is pretty damn good : if only they could have found a decent singer.

Well, initially I couldn't stand Hammill's singing style either,  but it has actually grew on me and now his voice strikes me as one of the most emotional and beautiful in prog-rock, song "Lost" being the best example. Doesn't mean of course, you will guaranteedly like him, tastes differ after all - I don't like Jon Anderson and Geddy Lee.
