I'm looking for darker atmospheric sort of new-wave or neofolk sounding progressive bands. I love Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, and No-Man as well as Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Tool, Opeth's softer work, Tenhi, Lunatic Soul, Wovenhand, and Katatonia. I'd say that out of these I've listed my favorite albums are Porcupine Tree's Lightbulb Sun and Steven Wilson's Raven that Refused to Sing. I also love Ulver and David Sylvian. I have an aversion to the more spritely sounds of bands like Dream Theater, Rush, or Ayreon so I'm not interested in anything similar. I'm wondering if there are any really good bands that have flown under my radar. Thanks in advance!

The Seer by Swans is a great album that features a lot of dark heavy passages similiar to King Crimson.
Discipline is a great band. Unfolded Like Staircase is highly reccomended of theirs.
Also Van Der Graaf Generator, if you haven't already heard their stuff

The first and the third video both feature Emma Ruth Rundle, an amazing artist. Her style seemed to echo what you were looking for and what i had. Hope you enjoy.

If you're looking for neofolk, really of any stripe, you have to make sure you listen to plenty of Current 93. Plenty of atmospheric stuff amongst David Tibet's repertoire.

Samples from the classics:

I just got the last (and first for me) Anathema album, and the Casualties of Cool (Devin Townsend side project) albums, and have barely heard them, but it sounds like they me work for you. Also, perhaps OSI (I have their debut), and Alcest's Ecailles de Lunes.
