Robert Svilpa is a guitarist, keyboardist, singer and songwriter from the U.S. In 2005, he joined with keyboardist and vocalist Paul Harrington and bassist Mark Parris - the latter two going under the band name Paraesthesia - to release his first album "The Sound of Thoughts". In 2009, Robert and his band released a second album, this time under the name Robert Svilpa and Paraesthesia, called "A Fine Line Between...", a sequel to the first CD.

Most of the second album was recorded in home studios between Nov 2007 and May 2009, with the first release digitally on iTunes/Amazon/Rhapsody in July 2009, but Robert hasn't been terribly satisfied with the results since, however - prompting him to go back to the recordings of  "A Fine Line Between..." in 2013, and address issues - notably the overall mixes, and some instrumental takes feeling substandard. Work is continuing right now, but the end of the tunnel is in sight as the new resulting mixes are proving vastly superior, and fitting of a proper release - including the recording of some female vocals.

Helping out bringing their prodigious talents to the project on drums and percussion were featured guests Nick D'Virgilio (Big Big Train, Spock's Beard, Genesis, Tears for Fears, Kevin Gilbert), Andy Edwards (Robert Plant, IQ, Frost*, Priory of Brion), & Zsolt Galantai (Rusty Gold). Guitar god Alan Morse rounds out the guest list playing lead guitars on the instrumental 'Mesmerize'. Celebrated artist Ed Unitsky created the artwork and packaging for the CD, including all liner notes - the front cover being the picture being used for the kickstarter campaign.

This project work is in parallel to two other CD remix projects happening - "The Sound of Thoughts" from 2005 is getting an end to end facelift, and "Onion" from 2000 is being redone from scratch. This effort is a rebuilding of the entire back catalog - so other Kickstarter campaigns will surface this summer 2015 and fall 2015 respectively to support those two projects.

The problem with the first project is that with only seven days to go, and a $2,000 goal set for the final total...only 11 backers have stepped forward, pledging just $350 so far. More info here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/robertsvilpa/a-fine-line-between-by-robert-svilpa-and-paraesthe, and you can listen to the original recordings of Robert's music on rebverbnation: http://www.reverbnation.com/robertsvilpa.

Any help that might be forthcoming over the next seven days would no doubt be very much appreciated... Thumbs Up
