Hello, my prog brethren.

I need your help on deciding whether or not to buy Magma's magnificent KA on vinyl. I've noticed the last track is split into a 3:53-ish first side and the rest is on the 18 minute-ish second side. It bothers me that this track is split up as I feel that first 7-or-so minute opener (and the whole track, for that matter) should be listened to unbroken.

Anyone who owns the 2xLP have any input? Does it work out? Or does it sound awkward? Am I crazy?

I don't want to drop 40.00 USD on an LP (one of my top 3 of all-time) and be disappointed.

Thank you in advance!

Hi. I'm not a big Magma or vinyl guy here, but still ... :

1) Are you by any chance a member of the Vinyl Community? Even if not, I think you can ask around on YouTube, especially Jeff (J-Man on PA and DemiseOfTime on YT) since he's a big prog/jazz guy in the community.

2) What's the availability status on that $40 pizza? I'm asking because you might be on a clock.

Hell yeah !! It does only cover 3 of the four sides of a dbl LP, however, the sound is beautiful, and it's a very special 'thing' to own. I'd recommend you lay down your dosh for the vinyl of E-Re. Now that is priceless. Sl*g Tanz too (and it has a lovely embossed cover with the Magma logo and writing). I can't wait for Felicite Thosz on vinyl. Then again, my CD's number around 100, my vinyl collection nearly 2000 by now. I really gotta stop

I gave up  vinyls years ago, and today I'm haunted again. But it's very expensive and I try to buy what I don't have already on CD. Recently a guy from a record shop in Lisboa and another in Montreal told me that my wantlist was the most impossible to find list they have seen in their life. So sad Cry

^ Hey Jose, take a risk on Sl*g Tanz - it's so good, you may just 'get it' this time around.

I have tried.......
