The Beatles' conceptual masterpiece or Zappa's progressive parody?

It was a tough choice and although from a production view it's FZ hands down. Trouble is against that you've got great songs on Sgt. Pepper. I can hear the hate in the vocals of "Fixing A Hole" that shows it wasn't as air-headed as the MoI thought. And even then you've got the closing sequence from "For Being Of The Benefit of Mr Kite". "Were Only In It For The Money" even has Hendrix but it still falls short of the above mentioned track.

Sorry to vote against Zappa, Were Only In For The Money is an incredible album, but Sgt. Pepper is my choice on this one. Superb music by the great Liverpool band.

"And I will join a rock & roll bandI will be their road managerAnd I will stay there with themAnd I will get the crabsBut I won't care"I think it's obvious Zappa nailed it with "We're only in it for the money"

Both among my top but Sgt. Pepper is my fifth favourite album of all time.

I like them both. Zappa's parody was rather clever in that he didn't do it Weird Al style but rather stylistically.

I love both, but there's something about Money that clicks with me. Pepper is good, but Money points the way to stuff like the Abbey Road suite, Soft Machine Volume 2, Thick As A Brick, and Dark Side Of The Moon. Then again, Money wouldn't have come into existence without Pepper. What I'm saying is that Pepper showed this new music had potential, but Money kind of helped give that potential the right kind of nourishment.
