Alexey started playing drums at the age of 16, and from the very beginning he set a goal to push his music forward. With fellow forward thinking young musicians he formed a band called “Jam It”. The band explored complex compositions, odd meters, and fresh mixtures of different styles, while creating original instrumental progressive fusion-based music. The band performed live, making two records and is currently working on the third cd set to release in May 2015. The band is critically acclaimed in the Russian progressive rock scene. In 2013 Alexey went to New-York to study at the Drummers Collective. Throughout the studies Alexey performed with many experienced NY musicians. This experience gave him opportunity to broaden his understanding of jazz, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian and other important musical styles, and gave him a deeper understanding of composing original music. In 2015 Alexey successfully graduated from the Collective, and he recorded his first solo record “Ambush ah the Movies”, where he took jazzier approach. Today Alexey is back to Saint-Petersburg, working on a couple of new projects and teaching. Musical Education – Six-Semester Diploma at the Collective School of Music in NY (2013-2015). His band JAM IT! are already here, and this music certainly fits the sub too, so it's just a matter of whether or not to evaluate him again as a solo artist and create a new entry.
