The Human Equation and then Snow for me. Personally, I think the Lamb is quite terrible. Maybe Genesis worst album ever. I don't really even get the concept. Might as well be singing in French or Italian for as little sense as it makes to me.

Subterranea for me. The story is far more engaging than that of Rael. And it's been made into a film.
I would say The Snow Goose, because it's the best album ever recorded, but it isn't really a true concept album since it tells a story which was already written by someone else.

Best concept, I don't know... but I do know that it's not The Lamb. Lyrics and/or song names on that one rather bother me. I think The Wall is brilliant, but I don't think it would go as a favourite. Someone mentioned 6 Wives, and that one is great too... though Arthur is more to my taste. Also, I think YS, from Il Balleto di Bronzo might be a good choice here, but I don't really understand the lyrics, I only have a vague idea about the story. I guess "Inferno" by Metamorphosi might be included too. Oh yeah, and Secret of the Runes from Therion... I do love viking mythology.

As not all the "others" are known to everybody, could all please write down a short summary of the concepts you mention?

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.
After listening daily for about a week now, my choice isn't biased or anything.

I'm not a fan of so-called ' concept albums' in general....though the music is generally good on all of them.Of those listed I suppose The Wall makes more sense than the others ( I do like Tommy also..) and The Lamb is by probably the worst regarding lyrics and sense imho....but some of the music is very good.
Someone mentioned TAAB and that is probably the one I like the best regarding an actual concept that is realized in a sensible manner....and of course the music is first rate.
There are probably many that haven't been mentioned including some obscure ones.

I would also agree with TAAB. The conceptual continuity (if I may borrow from Uncle Frank) carries from the brilliantly designed album cover to the album itself. Before you even heard the album, you read the actual concept in a series of articles from the St. Cleve's Chronicle.

The Lamb and Thick As A Brick (not listed) should be my choices, but I'll show some love to Snow! A great story and one that still sticks in my mind like a film storyboard.

Lamb. It owes lot to Tommy, but anyway I have liked it´s story more, also Wall owes even more to Tommy. On the other there might be more common in Lamb & S.F. Sorrow.
