I am kind of a newbie in this genre so I would like to listen to the defining albums in this genre . Also includes Experimental , Tech and Extreme stuff .

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

Ark - Burn the Sun
Pain of Salvation - start with their early albums, you might as well try the rest. Threshold - great band if you ask me, they've never released anything weak + Headspace Sieges Even + Subsignal Fates Warning (especially the Ray Alder era) + the Arch/Matheos album + Redemption Enchant (plus two other bands Ted Leonard was in - Thought Chamber & Affector) Shadow Gallery (same as Threshold, no weak release) Anubis Gate Conception Distorted Harmony (they have released 2 great albums) Kingcrow (their last 3 albums are great) OSI (4 albums, Kevin Moore & Jim Matheos) and so many others, I'll get back to it |

Hard for me to dish out "all-time" labels, so I stick with the classics here: Candiria - Surrealistic Madness Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve If Candiria would have gotten any exposure outside of the hardcore scene, they would've been much bigger than they were. Their stuff was mind blowing when it came out.
