The modern day warrior. Such a ludicrous, loser lyric from the insightful Rush boys. It alone makes me pine away for the Genesis song, one in which I never really liked until this comparison.

Gotta be Tom Sawyer!

Behind Deep in the motherlode is a fantastic idea which should have been developed a little more in my opinion. It was a great concert opener though (as was Tom Sawyer of course)

I found this was the case with a lot of ATTWT. They were still a prog rock band but the pieces felt kind of truncated to me.

Maybe it should have been a 2 LP set!

Tom Sawyer is a perfect piece so I voted for Deep In The Motherlode - it has very subtle moments while Tom Sawyer has more hooks than a fishing fleet giving it that more immediate appeal.

I love ATTWT. It was clear they were tryong to cross the bridge between prog and more mainstream rock, amove I didn't like in principle but one I tought they executed quite well...until Abacab that is, then it all went to sh*t IMO..

Apparently Burning Rope was quite a bit longer in its original form; chopped down for the album.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I personally prefer this Genesis cut.

Well, it's not "go west young man" but I guess not everyone can write something that original. Confused
