Rackmount basics

Hi folks, a tiny studio, too much equipment and miles of cluttered cabling is forcing me down a 19" rackmount route. 
Does anyone have any suggestions about manufacturers, kit etc ? I've got some Penn Elcom gear being delivered but I'm pretty much a newbie on the subject. I'm mainly doing stuff like.... this.  Two sequencers, two synths, case lighting, tuner, all into 12U.
