Sometimes alternative covers are better than the original ones.
What examples do you think of?

For me, the first alternative covers that come to mind are Eloy's Planets and Time to Turn, by artist Rodney Matthews:

I also personally find the logo more suited to the ELOY's 80's musical style.

This original European cover for Triumvirat's album Old Loves Die Hard is rather dull.

This alternative cover, used in North America, initially, is more interesting.

The vinyl version of White Willow's debut, Ignis Faatus, is more representative of the wonderful music contained within.

King Crimson - The odometer for Road To Red (I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I wish that had been the cover for Red).

Gentle Giant - US version of Octopus. I think the jarred octopus with the little man inside kind of fits the music better.
He looks at this world and wants it all... so he strikes, like Thunderball!
