Which bands achieved worldwide stardom, except in your country?
Name a few examples based on your experience.

For me:

- Rush: Never heard of them before. I remembered traveling by car in the USA with some friends. We turned the radio on and "Tom Sawyer" was playing on. I said to myself: "Wow, they broadcast this kind of spacey elaborated rock on the radios here? The radio programmers must be quite adventurous!". In France, the only Canadian bands on medias are soapy female singers such as Céline Dion Big smile. In fact, there are not much rock songs on radios anymore.

- Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream are overshadowed by Jean-Michel Jarre. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy his early albums. The problem is that most Frenchs believe he's the one who created electronic music...

^ I think these apply to Portugal as well Tongue Krautrock and Berlin School were not popular here in the 70's so it's not easy to even find a TD album. I've been finding albums from the genre thanks to recent reissues. Curiously, many new bands seem influenced by Krautrock nowadays.
