Quantity-wise PT simply has more albums I enjoy, but quality-wise they're rather equal.
This night wounds time.

PT.......the music and catalog can satisfy many sounds. The early PT stuff (Pink Floyd influence), the later PT stuff with a harder metal edge, then you have albums like Lightbulb Sun.

SW material stays mainly on one course, hard jazzy/fusion and very melodic material. Other than Insurgentes which has that dark edge and more shoegaze genre music.

All in all I prefer PT material simply because I love Gavin's drumming.

For those who like PT melodies and jazz music there is Harrison's 2015 release "Cheating the Polygraph". Be sure to check it out, it's very good.

I can't choose between them for some reasons.
(IMO) There are no essential or significant differences between them . They only have some (or more!) slightly differences. The Steven impact on P.T is very deep and complex even much more than Waters on  P.F !
In my opinion ,   He used different sounding or different arrangement , mixes ,... in P.T and his solos to make some "Big and Clear Differences" to show to his fans and convince them :
" P.T and me are different and each of us have our own music."

(IMO) Steven is root and spirit of P.T and I can't imagine PT without Steven (can you?). In my Honest opinion P.T 's albums is Steven's solo albums too but with some slight differences !!! (with my honest respect to another P.T musicians)

up until his last 2 albums I might have said Steven as he had done nothing 'wrong'. PT has 2 albums I absolutely love (IA and Deadwing) and a lot of other very acceptable stuff. Pity Steven couldn't have kept his nerve on the solo stuff.

Do you like Steven Wilson's right foot or his left foot?

PT is Steven Wilson. The solo stuff is Steven Wilson. They are both 95% him and then his hired hands add some spices. Marco is right on par with Gavin IMO.

I'd much rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

I love early PT (Signify, Sky Moves Sideways, Up The Downstair), but I also adore SW's Grace for Drowning and Insurgentes.
