One of he most important session musicians of all time, and a legacy of a songwriter, so much overlooked.   Elton did the music world a huge service for making it remember your huge share in the sound of rock and pop music, your work migh not have been forgotten, but now it is rememerd and your comitment to the sound of rock music, is forever thanked.

thank you Leon Russell

If you know your onions then you'll know what an impact Leon had on music.
The quickest answer is to ask what hadn't he played on!
R.I.P. Leon Russell.

Have seen him half a dozen times over the past few years.  He'd wobble on stage on a cane - once he even was wheeled on stage, but once he got behind the piano he sounded like a teenager again.  Saw him last in April in Luckenbach, Texas, and he said something like, "We've all been around and soon we'll be gone. Enjoy it while you can."  Thanks for the life, RIP.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

Leon was the man.  May he Rest In Peace.  Many don't know that Leon wrote this song and George Benson's version won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1977.
