Band: Indifferent Nature

Genre: Possibly eclectic prog or heavy prog?

(Other genre contenders include crossover prog, symphonic prog or even neo-prog (please let me know what genre you think we are. I truly have no idea!)

Current lineup

Mike Sestak- basses, synth, vocals and writer

Matthew Miller- Drums and percussion

Mike Lockler/Josh Cervenka- Guitar

Alex Zapata- 7 string baritone guitar

First Album: Introspective Aftermath 2017

Track listing:

1-A Letter Never Sent

2-Emissary of Darkness

3-Hide My Face

4-This Quiet Life

5-Personal Peace

Hailing from Chicagoland, Illinois, Indifferent Nature originally came together as bassist Mike Sestak’s senior music project in college. Following graduation, Sestak reformed the group, rehearsed and recorded the group’s first album, Introspective Aftermath.

Below is our main Soundcloud page, and three of the five songs from the new album.

The three main tracks out right now:

Any feedback is welcome!

And while I consider this to be 'progressive' music, I'm curious to see what prog subgenre you might think we'd fit under (eclectic prog, symphonic prog, heavy prog, etc.)  Thank you all for your time, and I look forward to hearing your reactions!

I don't hear any heavy prog, perhaps eclectic.

Has the album been released? If so, in what format and where is it available?

Thanks

The album was released at the start of February 2017 in physical CD form. As I can't really sell albums solely by physically selling, I'm getting our website built up with a digital purchase option available for both physical copies and digital downloads.

Some more basic info is available here on the release.

As for subgenre, I think the eclectic label fits better, as the music in the album is all over the board. Thank you so much for listening!

I don't hear much eclecticism from the samples that have been posted. The tracks on soundcloud gave me a definite alternative/indie rock vibe, though, so my first impressions would put the band more in crossover territory.
when i was a kid a doller was worth ten dollers - now a doller couldnt even buy you fifty cents

Funny enough, I was listening to King Crimson, Leprous, ELP's Tarkus and Steven Wilson's Raven that Refused to Sing when I was writing this album. So yeah there's definitely more of a rock influence overall. If you don't mind me asking, why do you think there isn't much eclecticism in the music? Not enough style diversity perhaps? Thanks again for listening!
