After spending a few years as a guitarist in an old-school heavy rock band, and a succeeding period of stagnation, I and a couple of friends, on bass and drums respectively, decided to found a new.... old-school heavy rock band. Although, this time without any trace of guitar and myself on Hammond organ, an instrument which I've always loved but never really learned to play. One of the main goals was to make something at least as heavy as it would have been with a guitar, as well as incorporating all the things we listen to and love, which means a healthy dose of prog. I'd like to think of it as a(n upside down) cross between Black Sabbath and ELP, but there's a lot going on.

We have just finished recording what is to become our debut album and are currently looking for a label on which to release it. In the meantime, we decided to showcase one of the tracks on Soundcloud. Hope you enjoy it, and if you do, we can be found on Facebook for those who want to keep track of our proceedings.

Really digging the old school swampy production of this.
Is that you Bo Hansson?

Update for those who are interested. This kinda renders this thread obsolete, but we have managed to get picked up by the progressive label Melodic Revolution who in due time will release our first-born album. Here is our profile page: http://mrrmusic.com/bla-lotus/
