Topaz are a Texan jazz-rock/acid-jazz group formed in 1997 by tenor saxophonist Topaz McGarrigle. After the band moved to New York City, they released their first album in 1999. Over their career they have played a brand of jazz infused with funk rock, soul, and psychedelic influences.

6. Live At Bell (5:57)
7. Didj (6:14)

6. Peyote Eyes (5:50)
7. Dharma (12:16)

The Zone (2002)

(if you do end up adding this I suggest you use this direct picture of the cover- it's a photoscan I did of the front of the booklet itself and is the highest quality version I've seen so far)
1. Minha Mente (7:27)
2. I Can See It In You (5:28)
3. Walkabout (7:47)
4. 4th & D (6:30)
5. You & Me (4:29)
6. The Zone (4:43)
7. Naked (6:37)
8. Fat City Strut (4:59)

The Afro-Dub Sessions (2005)
1. Paleo (5:39)
2. Pharoah (6:02)
3. Steppin' Out (3:41)
4. No Stress (4:09)
5. Six Feet (7:03)
6. Stop Them Jah (4:00)
7. Ohio (2:15)
8. Walkabout (7:19)
9. Little Defeats (3:11)

Personally I'm most familiar with 2002's The Zone. As far as I'm aware The Afro-Dub Sessions was a shift more to reggae, but the first three albums definitely fit the bill.

Though I heard maybe one or two songs that might fit a bill, at my quick glance it seems that overall they have more connections to acid jazz and lounge music rather than jazz rock or fusion. But I don't think we're swamped so I'll take them to the team for evaluation to check them out, thanks for the suggestion.

^ I can see where you're coming from. They've been referred to as acid jazz a lot and personally I don't see the huge connection as acid jazz is a genre that relies way more on electronics and club music, and Topaz doesn't really do that. Lounge I will agree with you though because they do have a handful of songs with lounge influences. Overall I think funk rock is a much more and overlooked aspect of their music, especially on their second and third albums. Here's what I think a good example of that is:

('The Emperor' is from Listen!)

But it's your call and I trust you guys to make a good decision.

Yes, it's in our thread. Don't really have anything more to add until the decision is made.
