I also love Scandinavian prog (mostly Swedish - Anglagard, Sinkadus, Kaipa, Beardfish, The Flower Kings, Par Lindh Project, Landberk, Anekdoten, Samla Mammas Manna), and I found there is something in common in them... maybe it's a subtle influence of Swedish folk music?

Everything Jacob Holm-Lupo and H. Froislie are involved for sure. So it does include chiefly White Willow (minus Signal to noise) and Wobbler. Then on a more "psyche side", anything having on board Reine Fiske the superb swedish guitarist would be valuable: From Landberk (Indian Summer is a classic) to the Amazing, including Morte Macabre (a meeting of Landberk and Anglagard, a feast of dark prog with mellotron a plenty) and Dungen his most popular vehicle. And for one of the leftfield, The Foundation, and obscure mid eighties band with a sole record to my knowing, quite inspired by Camel.

45 years of prog listening and still movin'

First of all, I wouldn't call all the bands mentioned here modern, but I suppose anything after the 80's goes right?

Secondly, I can't believe Gazpacho has not been suggested yet. Most contemporary art rock/neo prog, one of my personal favorite!

From Finland I recommend Absoluuttinen Nollapiste´s albums Pisara ja Lammas 1 and 2, also Risto´s album II. They´re all very great concept albums!
