Circus Brimstone Live CD

7th September 2005
The Flower Kings Instrumental offspring "Circus Brimstone" will release a Live CD named "BrimStoned In Europe" on September 20th in the tradition of recent "Live Official Bootlegs". It will be released as a Official bootleg and will be sold on the TFK website shop (merch section), at live shows and assorted mailorders and through the regular sources.

The CD is recorded by soundman Petrus Konigsson on the European tour April 2005 and has a good quality multitrack "boardfeed" recording that was later mixed in Cosmic Lodge Studio, sounds well as good as any "professional" live recording and on par with for example "Alive On Planet Earth". Place your order on the merchandise section.

Tracklist is as follows:
  1. Cosmic Lodge
  2. Astral Dog/ Hellhound
  3. Circus Brimstone
  4. The Man Who Walked With Kings
  5. Magic Circus Of Zeb
  6. Speed Wizard/ MarcusDrumsolo
  7. Retropolis
Total playing time over 65 min.

Players are:
Marcus Liliequist-Drumkit
Jonas Reingold-Bassguitar and Basspedals
Tomas Bodin-Keyboards
Roine Stolt-Guitars

Don't you find it interesting that the Brimstone CD in no way resembles the "Brimstone" set we saw in Metuchen?  I heard a guy at the show call for Astral Dog...  I assumed it was wishful thinking, but I guess he thought we'd be getting the Europe setlist...  which we were told we would.  It appears that our 'Brimstone' setlist was 100% unique to that show, though.

And yes, I need that Brimstone CD as well.

Yeah, that was weird. I thought we were getting the Europe set in the afternoon, and the US set after the break. But, we still weren't disappointed.

And, yeah, I heard that same guy call for Astral Dog.

What do you suppose the easiest way to get the Brimstone CD will be?

My guess would be through the site, when they list it... maybe on the 20th?  If I can scrape some cash up, that's the first thing I'm getting.

Yeah, reading it over, I came to that conclusion as well. They'll be selling it at live shows, and they won't be back for a while, I guess.

I'd certainly like to add that to the collection.

Also, isn't it really funny that the dude that introduced Circus Brimstone in Metuchen was all like "Yeah, well, I don't really know how to introduce these guys, I mean, they've never put out an album, but, anyway, here's Circus Brimstone!"

I snickered.  I think Roine's got a thing for pseudonyms and such...  if he wants Circus Brimstone to be its own band that covers TFK instrumentals sometimes, so be it.

...what REALLY caught my eye was track 6 of the fanclub CD.  What'cha think of that?

I can't even imagine where they are going to go with that track.

But one thing I'm really glad about is Marcus. He looks like he's here to stay, and he was indeed amazing in Metuchen.

I'm really really really looking forward to the next full length studio TFK album, just to see what he can do with new original songs, and when he's in the studio.

Marcus was a pleasure to watch...  I couldn't believe it was only his 4th show with the Flower Kings, it sounded like he'd been there for quite some time.  If he keeps this ethic up, he's gonna blow my mind regarding what I drummer should be...  and Roine mentioned he sings, too!  I hung out with him for a few minutes at the show, Marcus seems like a really nice guy, to boot.

Dexter Frank Jr. is one of Roine's aliases, credited for additional keyboards/electronics (for those in the audience who are confused by this TFK-love thread)...  so I REALLY have no idea what that track will be like, it'd be like calling a song Don Azzaro or something

Right, right, imagine a song named Don Azzaro.

Or, maybe, a King Crimson song named Peter Sinfield.
