there is a lot of stuff from before prog, often not even proto-prog, that I love, for example The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, Big Brother & the Holding Company, Ten Years After, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Vanilla Fudge, Cream, Iron Butterfly, The Doors, Steppenwolf and many more. these bands were very creative and innovative, even if they were not prog, and I like them just as much as the prog bands. we have a lot of this stuff in our collection. somehow the older I get the more I like this stuff

There's a ton that I love from the 60s, be it jazz, psyche, experimental, easy-listening and soundtrack music.

A fave of mine from 1966:

Just a fanboy passin' through.

umm hmmm.. The Asssociation.  First live show I remember attending with dear old dad..  must have been around 75 or so.. as it was right after my parent's divorce....well past their prime obviously... but great enough I remember it still today.

now for some great stuff .. thanks to Tom for turning me on to this group.  One of the few of that era I had missed in my love of that era of music from SF.

the first true all female rock band..and with no small amounts of talent. Their guitarist got a nod from Hendrix....and best yet...and with 2 redheads to boot... wooo HOOOO!!!

OH the cat fighting that must have gone on within that group. ahem... *cold shower time*
