Actually in it's time, say between about 1971 and 1978, prog was chart-topping, did huge business, was cutting edge popular music, and lasted longer than disco during roughly the same period.   Of course what we think of as 'prog' was just the best of modern rock:  ELP, Yes, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Zappa, Mahavishnu .

My pick for Disco-prog ~

Very derivative of Moroder's work at the time and totally out of place on the album that it's on, but still a massive guilty pleasure of mine LOL

The Dutch Prog-Rock band Earth & Fire went all D.I.S.C.O. in the late 70's & early 80's. Smile

wtf's disco about this song?

Check out its 1-2 beat... You'll find Run Like Hell's beat also very disco-ish in the same regard

The diff between funk and disco was that the latter was a 1/2 beat, which is why it became big with the whiteys, since even the sorriest excuses of them could dance to it

I nominate Steven Wilson for "permanating" from his last album(not the new one coming up soon). Maybe not quite genuine disco but close enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4LfUDV1x5s

And who could forget this little "prog" nugget from 37 years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LLzPPFc21o
