Love Henry Cow, but Zappa for sure.

easy vote for Henry Cow.. in terms of the narrow poll topic. Zappa is the greater far artist...  none.. not even UZ top the Cow when it comes to RIO/Avant.

This time Zappa! (Would've voted Fred Frith solo against him, but he was not in the field if I'm not mistaken.)

Both excellent - but so different and thus really difficult to compare. While Zappa can fit into the RIO/Avant category, his strength is that his music is so diverse, with jazz, punk, R&B, and metal all filling compositional niches. Zappa should/could be in a category of his own.

Zappa and Cow...quite an agricultural poll...(Zappa in Italian means "hoe")
