Nice suggestion. Only one album: OCIPINSKI, out on July 1st, 2019. You can listen to it here: https://evancarsondrums.bandcamp.com/releases Evan Carson is a percussionist and song writer who records and tours with Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys, The Willows and The Tweed Project. He has also appeared with Seth Lakeman, Kate Rusby and IAMTHEMORNING. (and Gleb Kolyadin). BIOGRAPHY: 'Coffee addled percussionist and duck philanthropist throwing himself backwards through the music industry.' Evan has been lucky enough to have studied with some of the most renowned drummers in the UK including Damien Manning, Pat Garvey and Cormac Byrne and has toured the UK, US, Europe and Russia with a number of musical acts and productions. He has also appeared on a wide variety of work on BBC Radio 2 and Radio 6. Evan currently tours with folk acts Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys (BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Best Group Nominees), The Willows, Georgia Lewis (BBC 2 Radio Folk Awards Horizon Nominee) and has also performed with Seth Lakeman (Robert Plant) and Kate Rusby's touring band. In 2018, Evan guested on piano virtuoso Gleb Kolyadin's (iamthemorning) solo album opposite drummer Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) and Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater) and on IAMTHEMORNING's live blue ray release 'Ocean Sounds'. In 2019, he returned to guest on IAMTHEMORNING's 4th studio album and is currently touring and recording with The Tweed Project. Evan's solo project 'OCIPINSKI' featuring Gleb Kolyadin and Jim Grey (Caligula's Horse) plus other great musicians from both the folk and prog worlds is due out 1st July 2019. at the end of November Evan became an Istanbul agop cymbals artist and can frequently be seen playing bodhran and percussion for west end musical come from away. have to admit I’m intrigued as to how Evan Carson has still not been added. I realise that what is or is not prog can be quite subjective, but I would have thought he’d have ticked the necessary boxes to at the very least be considered Prog Related or Crossover.....? 🤔

He probably hasn't been added because, looking at progfreak, he doesn't appear to have been evaluated thus far (unless the Prog Folk team - who don't use progfreak to keep track of their evaluations - have picked him up for a listen at some point).
He certainly belongs here for my money, so I've taken the liberty of adding him to progfreak in the hope that the Crossover team might give his album a quick listen, and thus decide whether he might be a fit for that sub, or perhaps a move to Prog Folk? Progfreak link: https://progfreak.com/Evan-Carson-177773.html. Edit: Second suggestion, for inclusion in the Prog Folk sub, from September of this year: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=124080. Edited by yam yam - November 23 2020 at 10:45 |

not in favour of prog folk for this guy - seems more crossover for me, with elements of folk and symphonic. Ge reminds me a bit of Aaron English
