Legendary canadian prog band FM released a great album in 2015 featuring only one original member cameron hawkins 3 new members paul delong (drums) aaron solomon (violin) edward bernard (viola, mandolin)mixed by legendary producer terry brown (rush, max webster) simply put what a fantastic record took a couple of listens, but what a return to form, nothing like it since BLACK NOISE very prog indeed 3 great tracks REBOOT RE-AWAKEN ,SAFE AND SOUND and BRAVE NEW WORLDS, the closer the epic HEAVEN ON EARTH .Thank you for taking the time to read it really makes me as a canadian, proud there is more than just rush and saga from here.

I really Dig FM particularly Black Noise and Direct to Disc.. ive got a couple of their later lps which are less even with some standout tracks and a bit of filler but still enjoyable.. Ive got Nash the Slash "Children of the Night' (produced by Steve Hillage) somewhere which is pretty mad but unique in its time! I will definately check out this 2015 album and let you know what i think!

I would rank FM albums in this order
Black Noise Transformation City of Fear Surveillance Direct to Disc Did I miss any important ones? I think I reviewed all of them at some point Grantman, any knowledge of whether they might put out another? |

I really like Transformation. Some genuinely good tunes. Cam's voice sounds great, and his lyrics still have a positive vibe. I wish he was able to keep the momentum going, but it seems like everything in the world of FM is start/stop/start/stop. I FINALLY got to see them live in 2018 with Hawkins/Delong/Solomon in Chicago. Great show. |

Thanks for the recommendation! I had no idea this existed. Black Noise has always been one of my favorite albums. They had some good stuff scattered about elsewhere, but Transformation is great all the way through. Great comeback! Too bad it seems like it was short-lived.
