Sounds like a terrific DVD to me- the set list is brilliant, plus there's some nice rarities on offer too!

That really sucks that they don't have all the tracks of the concert on the DVD.

Alex played a completely false riff at the beginning of La Villa... (I have the Main-Hattan Project bootleg, which is complete!), so I can understand the band's decision.

I don't think the main reason for deleting 8 tracks from the set was because of a complete false riff played on any of the songs during the show.

Those 8 tracks were cutted off from the R30 DVD set because they are also included on the Rush In Rio DVD, which is still brand new release, and it could compete against it. So the band decided to do that in order to prevent it. Think about it, some people, not many or all, could stop buying the first DVD released two years and think: Oh! I have the almost complete Rush In Rio set plus 14 new songs... I don't want to get bored listenning to the same tracks over and over again... Of course, those are the non-rush fans, but hey, I don't believe that a band was going to release a material only for the fans. That's why the have a deluxe edition set for the die-hard and a non-deluxe edition for the rest.

I see it more as a marketing strategy, although, as a fan, I wouldn't bothered to have same 8 tracks on both DVDs and wouldn't get bored to listen them over and over again. I could keep listening to Rush without getting that feeling. They are one of the greatest bands in the whole world and my favorite.

Still, if people feel disappointed with this, that's bad for them. I believe is going to rock and the deluxe edition is even better. You got 2 additional cds plus many other extras for a reasonable price... Oh Yeah!!!

Looks a good set, but I hope they've mixed the audience noise a tad lower, this time.

I think it will. According to their interview, for their show in Rio, there was no soundcheck and all their equipment was install a couple of minutes before the show. For this case, I think is different. So there won't be any sound mix problems and the German audience will be quiet compared to that from Rio in Brazil.

Besides, I believe the sound mix for the Rush In Rio DVD set is just great and the audience is just amazing... Listening to them singing along the tracks, gives you that chill running over your spine... I've never heard of an audience singing their songs during a show...

The only thing I regret is the release date was moved to November, 22nd...

So, there are 40 days left until it is released (instead of 33 days as it was ment to be first)

I think, a good dvd is on the road. Rush in Rio was also very cool. But I want a studio album too. I don't want Rush to become Iron Maiden (after all of that stuff; dvd's compilations etc.)..

Exciting news about the project and forthcoming DVD re-releases:

Producer Sheds Light On Working With Rush: "...producer and director Pierre Lamoureux...is responsible for the huge undertaking of not only the R:30 package but the DVD releases of Exit Stage Left..., Grace Under Pressure Tour - 1984, and A Show of Hands all of which are being released in 2006 in both a special box set and individual package. 'There is a lot of work that has gone on with the band over the last year,' Lamoureux says...'We have the entire Rush catalog in our hands. Not just the studio material they have released on albums, but every single demo or song that has not been released as well. We are setting Rush up for the future for releases that will be able to have 5.1 audio mixes along with SACD formats down the road....I can't get into every detail about the band's business and future but I can assure you the concerts that we are re-releasing are not straight VHS to DVD transfers. These are color touched, remastered, and re-mixed in 5.1 stereo and we are deciding which extras we will add to each in the coming days. We are basically done with everything except the extras and that decision lies with the band...'I approached the band's management SRO about filming Rush on their anniversary tour and they turned me down being so close to their Rush In Rio project. As the tour went on they decided it would be a great idea but it was too late to film Radio City Music Hall and Red Rocks although we talked about it, we just couldn't get crews into the cities at the right time.'"
