Humm, I love Queen, such a great band live..

would go with:

1. The prophets song

2. Brighton rock (on 'Live killers')

3. Was it all worth it

4. Liar

5. White queen

I love all of Queen II and A Night at the Opera. I heard Liar on t.v. a while ago and it kicks so much ass. But nothing Queen has done will make them a pure prog band.

Yes, it is true Queen were glam rock. Glam wasn't really a actual muscial style, It was a way that bands presented themselves. A band can play prog but still be glam, like Roxy music and Queen.

The Prophets song?

That's a great track. But its Art Rock, not  Progressive. Still a grey area for many people, I see.

Progressive Rock = Art Rock.

"The Prophets Song" is pure Progressive Rock - I don't see how you can say otherwise. It's not grey - it's technicolour prog!!

^ Agreed. But there is one Queen song that I would not call prog but most other people would: Bohemian Rhapsody. Sure it features many prog trademarks, but IMO it's too pompous and "glam" ...

threads like this make me realize that I still don't understand the meaning of "progressive". (just so you know )
"my kingdom for a horse!" (W. Shakespeare, "Richard III")

Exactly so - in many ways, more prog than prog itself...
