Yes, the band was a trio, if I remember correctly.  The Margretts brothers Gary & (?) played guitar & bass and Tony Brock was their drummer.  Tony went on to a successful career a few years later with The Babys.   

I believe their first album was produced by Greg Lake.  I owned a copy, it was just a "so-so" record.  You're correct about the year of release on that one, not sure about the second one.  Not sure who produced that one either, I never owned it.  It seems like there was at least a year if not longer between the releases.  I'm sure those are the only 2 albums they made.

Yes I've heard both albums by Spontaneous Combustion; Greg Lake produced the first and I think I read he was pictured in the inner sleeve. However, neither album was especially great, imo. The vocals were a bit bad as I recall. However, I think they were teenagers when they recorded their debut. I read that Harvest had much faith in the band yet in terms of sales (and imo, music) they failed to deliver.
