You can listen to Van Halen for EVH's guitar.

What can you listen to Aerosmith for (other than a few laughs, which quickly grow stale anyway)?

Laughs?

Aerosmith have a bunch of nice songs, Van Halen have nothing!

Van Halen.

I like both, but Van Halen have taken a whole genre to new levels. Although today their sound is a little dated and the chauvinism of Dave seems ridiculous to some, albums like I, II, Fair Warning, 1984 and 5150 will always remain cornerstones of modern metal.

Nothing? They have Petrucci's solos... (kidding)

And the only nice thing about Aerosmith is Liv Tyler.

Come to think of it...

Liv Tyler > EVH's solos

I should have voted for Aerosmith

Aerosmith embody everything that I dislike about rock music ... and I voted for them on accident.

Van Halen,I was a teenager in their heyday with Roth and listened to them alot.

Aerosmith were a great bluesy rock band, and their debut,Get Your Wings,Toys in the Attic and Rocks are some of the best rock n roll albums released in the 70's.

But ever since they cleaned up,started writing cheesy ballads and got mega popular again, they are just a corporate machine, and not one I really like anymore.

I am a fan of neither, but Eddie Van Halen is an excellent guitarist.

Aerosmith gets my vote but I like Roths Van Halen too. No time for Hagar though...

Aerosmith made great albums up until Permenant Vacation IMO. Pump represented a real nose dive in quality. Their best albums were produced in the 70's; Toys in the Attic, Draw the Line and Rock in a Hard Place were all rock classics...

Would I be shot if I said they were Americas answer to Led Zeppelin??

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!
