Funny somebody should mention Bon Jovi. I don´t have the new CD and most likely won´t get it, either, as my current music wishlist will keep me occupied for a long long time...BUT I did give "These Days" (released in 1995) a much deserved spin yesterday and once again could only conclude that it is one sadly neglected gem in the band´s back catalogue. The music on this record is not prog, of course (though there is at least one track, which to my ears seems to have *gasp* a time sig clearly on the odd side) but it does go way deeper than the ubiquitous 'party anthems' people tend to exclusively associate the band with.

There´s a bit more to Bon Jovi´s music than meets the eye if one is brave enough to dig around a little. No matter how large my prog/indie music collection becomes, I would never give up on my -rather many- BJ records.

I was made to love magic

Bon Jovi is probably one of the most underappreciated bands ever, everybody seems to hate them.

Their 'Slippery When Wet' seems to be a rather ubiquotous 80s album that it seems everyone owned but nobody would own up to it. I have that one, and it's enjoyable enough, ultra cheesy hair metal/AOR but I'm not a great fan.

He is the worst thing to have hit the rock galaxy since........................

The big bang!!!!

Awful and disgusting and the noisiest SOB I was given top haer

I think I like LA Hairspray metal better than Bon Anchiove

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword
