La STPO (LA SOCIETE DES TIMIDES A LA PARADE DES OISEAUX)
Kind of shot in the dark, dont know anyone who might be familiar with this great and over looked RIO band.
French band started out in the early 80s, have put a handful or releases.  Their sound is similar to Etron Fou Leloublan, with maybe some This Heat and Art Ensemble of Chicago influences as well, but they still stand out on their own.  I finally got their newest album "tranches de temps jete" on beta-lactum ring records,
 anyone else familiar?

didn't think I was going to get much mileage out of this thread, oh well, I highly recommend this band for people looking for something on the outer fringe of the RIO genre...which is saying quite a bit, maybe this thread can be moved to the prog-recommendations section,

Bonjour,
i'm Pascal Godjikian, the singer in La Stpo
thanks for having spoken of us.
about where to file our band ...
well, RIO, we often get that in the reviews of our recordings.
Prog ? well, yes, why not... it is a big influence for all of us. not the only one, but still...
some news from us :
we'll be part of the big avantgarde festival in germany organised by Faust and with lots of great Krautrock bands.
take a look at :

merci encore
au revoir
Pascal
