Note to mods: please just delete this; too many people are grossly misinterpreting what I'm trying to say.

IMO, it's all in the roots. Country is mostly white because it talks about the lives of cowboys and how it works in the farm. There are no really black cowboys and they are not a lot of black families who own their own farm.

As for pop, I believe that the reason why most pop artist are white is the same as why most politicians are white. It seems people are... not necessarily racist, but... proud of their own race... That's kinda sad.

I won't explain for all kinds of music but you get my point I guess...

Smile

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

No, it's an honest question, and what I said is mostly true. Can you think of any famous Jazz musician who was not black? (People like Frank Zappa and Mahavishnu don't count; they're prog-rock with a heavy jazz influence) Can you think of any mainstream rock band that had a black person? I can only think of Hendrix for rock and nobody for Jazz; I'm not saying there aren't any, as race really doesn't matter, but I think it's weird that there is such a disparity.

There are loads of white Jazzers; masses of black Rockers. Several of both come to mind as I write. However, I won't demean myself (or them) by rising to your sad piss take. For a self proclaimed holy man, you certainly lack respect for others.

This has nothing to do with respect! Also, if you'll notice, I said famous. Obviously there are people of all races in genres, but I mean famous. Like, really, really famous. Miles Davis, Zeppelin, and Cash famous.

And I didn't proclaim myself a holy man! What is wrong with you?
Bah, forget it. Any mod who reads this: please just delete this thread, as it is not being taken in the spirit that it was intended.

I'm not even going to dignify that with a real response other than that you, my friend, have grossly misinterpreted everything I have ever said. Perhaps I am not clear enough, and perhaps you have your own insane biases; either way, I would like to point out to you, why would I join the forum, be active here for several months and accumulate over 250 posts if I were a mere troll?

By the way crimson thing, you are the first person on any forum I've been on to call me a troll. Congratulations?

I'm gonna help Ghandi here!

Guys! You all misunderstood what he said.

He just made a remark that there are more blacks in certain musical styles and more whites in certain others. It's not racist at all. He just thinks that's weird and would like to know why.

Come on guys Ouch

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

In view of Ghandi's amendment to the first post in this thread, I have closed it.
