AC/DC rules! Anyway, the only reason I listen to Guns'n'Roses once in a while is to enjoy Slash's guitar playing. I don't like Axl's vocals; they're mediocre and sometimes quite annoying.

[QUOTE=Certif1ed]Guns'N'Roses produced the near-brilliant "Appetite for Destruction", then stopped being creative altogether, instead selling themselves to the media and churning out unimaginative and often pretentious drivel. QUOTE]
Did someone say something about the Wakeman solo career after the 70's?

Firstly, I will say Axle Rose is one of the worst singers I have heard. He always sounds like he is straining away on the toilet, chronically constipated or some such thing. Likewise, I will say Appetite For Destruction was ridiculously overrated. A very average album that just happened to be in the right place at the right time. However...
Both 'Use Your Illusion' albums are actually very good. If you ignore the silly swearing which is really laughable, the music and musicianship is quite good. And the production is top notch.
AC/DC??? Oh dear! Never liked this band. Same old riffs, same old music, nothing interesting to say, and when is Angus Young going to STOP WEARING BLOODY SHORTS!
I don't care if it's his trademark or not, it's ridiculous!
Without hesitation, my vote goes to Guns N' Roses.

"Enjoy"? The guy can't
keep time for sh.it. Listen to the guitar figure that opens Sweet Child
o' Mine - the tempo weaves back and forth like a drunken clown on a
see-saw. It's atrocious.

Sorry but I have to disagree, that guitar opener is instantly recognizable and the song has one of his best guitar solos.

AC/DC is classic rock. GnR are trash IMO. Axel Rose is one of rocks biggest d!cks. AC/DC have made classic timeless FUN rock'n'roll. Guns & Roses were entertaining for one album (Appettite) then tried to be clever...and failed. Just my opinion. Dont shoot me..

I'm no fan of either, but I think AC/DC were better and more influential. Brian Johnson's vocals are a bit irritating, but they're heavenly music if compared to Axl's whining. |
Add to that the fact that Axl Rose is probably the worst person in Rock'n'Roll history (Montreal, 1992, Olympic Stadium with Faith No More and Metallica, right after a pyrotechnical piece exploded in Hetfield's face, burning him and forcing him to the hospital, the only intelligent thing Rose thought of doing was to insult us and stop the concert a few songs into their set (like 3 or 4 songs). F**k you , he shouted! Which ensued in a major riot from angry fans.)

^And lead to several deaths, I believe.
Axl sings like a someone who's got his balls in a vice and kind of likes it.

i agree-asking me on a choice between these two bands is like asking if i want my eyes taken out with a spoon or burned out with a hot poker...both are extremely painful to experience...

AC/DC without a doubt. The vocals really get to me after a while, but still a very good band.
Take it over GNR no question.

I really don't mind the vocals of either. Hafta go AC/DC however, because they've made more than one great album.
