What a great guitarist he was, wouldn't he be prog-related?

Well, simply put, NO!

I love his music, but it has absolutely nothing to do with prog.

I will also say no, but not be as incisive about it as Jimbo.

In a way, Nick Drake's first two albums have enough inventive songwriting , good to excellent musicianship and thoughtful lyrics.

But I do not think he belongs here, even if he is on the list of possible inclusion for prog folk: a debate between prog folk specialist (and maybe collabs ) will happen about him

He's in that category of people like John Martyn, John Renbourn, Bert Jansch and Donovan,imo- not what you'd call 'prog folk' but then they did far more than the trad folk brigade. Still, probably a no from me.

I love Nicks work. Beautiful voice and deep heartfelt lyrics. This puts him the singer/songwritter genre. IMO.

Hm, "prog-related" is not the "real" prog, so in that case my answer is probably YES.

Yep

Steven Wilson said Nick Drake was an influence for him, so maybe i'd agree in proto-prog, but still he can't be generalized as an influence in prog.

My answer is no.
