Voted "best band ever", though Queen are one of several favourites of mine. Their 70's stuff was wonderful and most of their 80's stuff is alright, better than that of Genesis anyway. However, Queen were never really Prog, even if they come close at times.

Not the best band ever, but they ARE Prog.

Really? I tend to like Peter Hammill, Peter Gabriel, and Fish more.

That doesn't stop Freddie being a better vocalist - it depends how you define a good vocalist.

In my humble opinion (as a qualified singing teacher), it seems obvious that Mercury's voice was better at a technical level - although he had many stylistic traits I don't like.

On a more purely Rock and Roll level, I prefer the Fishy one - but I've also been surprised by the variety and aptitude of his techniques.

My favourite rock singer is Ronnie James Dio - but I don't think he's "better" than Freddie.
