As a typical black sheep (French, Girl, Bad in english, Not only interrested by Prog...) here come my mental peregrinations :

Start point : today I listen Jon Anderson records .

But some are not realy prog as "The More You Know"

And I couldn't find here any Jon & Vangelis records who are, in my sense very prog...

Anderson...

And Laurie Anderson (for example Mister Heartbreak) not prog ?

Is it experimental, or mongoloļd music ?

Why I couln't find :

Talk Talk

Celtic Prog Music like Gwendal ?

And so on...

Hi:

Talk Talk is usually a borderline prog group. A friend recently lent me an old cassette, but I really didn't dig into it.

I love Gwendal, in my opinion one of the top celtic rock groups. I think their mid-period can and should be considered prog because its jazzy influences. In fact, this band is featured in the GEPR.

Someone could really do a whole encyclopedia of much-discussed-prog-or-not bands! Its a recurrent topic in almost EVERY prog forum I'm in or have been.  This and trying to define prog rock. I've heard and read tons of opinions.

Ah yes, Talk Talk

A superb '80's band; if anyone wants to find out what they are/were like, I would recommend, 'The Colour Of Spring'....

Dunno if it really comes under the banner of prog, but there are some moments........ especially with Steve Winwood on Hammond.....bliss, sheer bliss

HELLO EVERYONE I AM BACK!!! I thought"LIFE'S WHAT YOU MAKE IT" by Talk Talk was one of the great songs from the 80's and although i would not call them a prog band myself i would totally recommend "The Colour Of Spring" as an album purchase("Happiness Is Easy" is a great song from that album)
