From the official website of Peter Hammill, dated Juli 17th 2007:

We're safely returned from the Land of Wind Turbines and looking forward to the shows coming up in the next week - fully rehearsed again as well!

The fortnight in Cornwall exceeded all expectations. Fantastic playing, enthusiasm, inspiration, and work all round. We have emerged with backing tracks which will form a fascinating selection of recordings. Some stuff is genuinely complicated, some deceptively simple. As a whole it is Not Like Anything Else at all.

We'll continue to work on these tracks over the next months and would expect a release early in 2008. It's very exciting indeed....

Good news indeed.

Ah, excellent news.

The thing is though, Spex (which I've heard twice now) isn't that inspiring and neither was the other new song they performed, so I wait with baited breath about their new album.

Having said that, Spex is extremely catchy.  The tune to Spex reminds me of a Bone track though, which is a tad odd.

Spex was fantastic, I have no idea why you state otherwise!

It would be great if they toured with this new album next year, so that would mean 3 years on the run I would have seen VdGG live.

Ah! Great Ex-Spex-tations.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

Oh I liked "Spex", but I need to hear it some more for me decide how much I like it.

The other new tune I cannot even remember for the moment.

Cool

Can't wait to hear it! Perhaps my favortie feature of VDGG was the sax, and now thats its gone I wonder how it will sound. Of course it will (or at least should...I would expect no less from PH) sound good...just how to fill the hole...

I don't really hear much punk rock in Nadir's Big Chance... maybe it's just me.
