Guy
sadly I couldn't make it to your recent Peel gig - any plans to play there again? If not, how about the Riga Club?

For those of us who appreciate Guy Mannings music and want to push it:

Please take 10-15 minutes of your life by going to a music forum of your choice and spread the word by starting a thread/debate or join in a prog rock thread. Please push his free compilation album so the people themselves can download and make up their own minds. Free legal downloads are a good thing. I have done this in several forums. Several DJs has been gently lobbyed too. Guy's marketing budget is minus zero pounds and I think we all owe him some favours. We are friendly people after all.

I'm on the case and am already working on my two pro-head mates to help them discover Guy's music. Since receiving Number 10 I can't stop playing it and am hoping to pass my enthusiasm on to them.

Very good interview. I recently found your discography and I´m amazed by the fact you mentioned Al Stewart. When I was first reviewing Songs... I was about to mention that I had the same feeling when I heard Year Of The Cat or Modern Times: the same zeal for the lyrics, melody, arrangement, everything.  Even the cover art (an important item too, even if nowadays people don´t give it much atention) . Almost too good to be true, in fact. I am glad someone still cares for all the details and releases something of that high caliber.

Best regards

Tarcísio

Prog Sphere recently completed an interview with Guy Manning of... well, Manning! He was fresh off of a recent appearance with his band at the Rites of Spring Festival in Gettysburg, USA, so in retrospect it would have been a good idea for us to ask him how it went. Not to worry though, there's plenty more spoken of in here, such as his album's concepts, some of the stories he's written about, curry, and cats! Please enjoy.

The interview is HERE.

I can assure you: When it comes to Guy Manning, I am like a cat permanent stationed next to a mouse hole, ready to pounce. I rate him very highly.

Btw. Four albums is being re-released this summer in addition to a new album:

These are:

"Tall Stories For Small Children" - Remastered with a Bonus Track.

"The Cure"- Remastered with a Bonus Track.

"One Small Step..." - Remastered with a Bonus Track.

"Songs From The Bilston House"- Includes a Bonus Track.

All of them are excellent.

Hot news: Guy Manning has now left The Tangent by mutual agreement. But he will still co-operate with Andy on other projects. The reason is lack of time due to the recent surges in activities of both Manning and The Tangent.
