Here is a French avant-gardiste band that released eleven albums.
It was founded in 1973 by Gilbert Artman.
This band is composed of 30 saxophonists, 1o chorists, 3 percussionnists and a bassist.
Here is their page on MySpace
Les mains, les pieds balancés
Sur tant de mers, tant de planchers,
Un marin mort,
Il dormira

I've listened to these guys on Myspace before, though I wasn't sure if I'd consider them avant-rock based on what I heard.  I'll give them another listen.

I don't think the samples in the player do this band justice.

Pierre Henry & Urban Sax's Paradise Lost is a damned fine album.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

The challenging krautrockin' looped electronic project LARD FREE is already included, so I can imagine to see Urban sax included in the archives one of these days. Thanks.

Urban Sax in JazzArchives??? Well, from what I heard, they're hardly jazz! Avant-garde indeed (so much avant-garde that I can't see them as "rock"), but not jazz.

I do at least think that Pierre Henry and Urban Sax is worthy of inclusion.

I've been lsitening a  lot to Spiral over the last six months or so, and had uploaded this.

I think the album and Urban Sax worthy for PA:
