I've only seen ZpZ and Ed Palermo's Big Band.  i have to go with Ed Palermo's Big Band.  I'm seeing The Don & Bunk Show in a couple days.

I went to ZPZ as a result.
And, can it be thought about anything for this band?

Project/Object is fantastic.  Ike Willis sings and plays guitar, and on occasion other alumni have sat in.  Andre' Cholmondeley is the group leader and lead guitarist, and he has an excellent grasp on the music.  One great thing about this group is the sense of humor and the unpredictability of their performances - quite unlike ZPZ, who plays it strictly by the book (and proudly too).  ZPZ may play more accurately, but P/O better captures the fun of a Zappa show.  Drummer Eric Slick (recently of Adrian Belew's band) is a 21 year old dynamo - though I'm not sure if he's still with the group now.  He's one of those drummers you end up watching more than anyone else on the stage - he's just fantastic.

By the way, it says I'm not allowed to vote in this poll - has the Zappa family gotten hold of my profile info??
(The Zappas don't like P/O, and I've made my admiration of them known on their forum)
:o)
