Latest news:

Update on the new echolyn album from Brett:

The new album "The End Is Beautiful" is almost done. A Mastering date has been set for July First in Cambridge Mass... so it better be done by then. The vocals have been taking awhile because of the complexity and amount of them. We are trying some new things. Both Tom and Paul are singing Backing vocals. It's adding a nice newness to the whole procedure. I'm finally  not getting stuck with all the high parts!!

It's beautiful. I must say Ray has out done himself on this one. He sounds better than I've ever heard him. It's such a pleasure to record him. He's amazing. Another cool thing  we are doing is just letting anyone play anything. Ray and Tom are both playing some Guitar. Ray plays bass on one tune. Myself and Ray play some keys. We are all adding percussion, it's a true band effort.

Chris's keys are smokin' and Tom's bass playing made an audible "rightness" click in our world. Oh, we have a horn date this week. That's gonna add a nice brass ballsy-ness to 3 of the tracks. It's been a lot of work because as I've said ,"It's hard to make albums that don't suck", but it's been a blast.

So I'll be mixing by the end of this month then it's off to press. The released date is August 23rd. We want to have a month to promote it properly. I've just completed a promotional video of "Make Me Sway". It's us in various studios cutting that tune. We'll get that up on our site for everyone right after the songs are mastered.

The songs are (in a tentative order)
1. Georgia Pine
2. Heavy Blue Miles
3. The End Is Beautiful
4. So Ready
5. Lovesick Morning
6. Make Me Sway
7. The Arc of Descent: Dancing In A Motel Just West Of Lincoln
8. Misery Not Memory

July and August will be spent rehearsing for the European tour and promoting the new album.
A new Web Site will be made to tie in with the new one. Tee shirts will also be available!

Brett

I'm finally going to see them live tomorrow and have been waiting for this chance since I discovered this highly original progband back in 1992. I was wondering if anyone here has seen them this weekend in London/Sheffield. Was it any good? (I haven't heard the new album yet)
