Ah, nothing can beat the nostalgia you have with the earliest pokémon games and episodes.. So many memorable moments, especially with the games (In the caves.. guess what, it's a wild zubat Shocked) And those battle sounds Headbanger

I just repelled pronto when I went into those caves. Crobats are cool, zubats not so much. I was so happy when I caught Lugia for the first time - still my favourite Pokemon ever, well him and Dragonite.

Both series are good, but I prefer S/G/C... Pokemon doesn't get any better than this.
The 2nd generation introduced everything (EV points, gender, battle tower, etc...) that made the game more complex, in the subsequent generations there aren't as many innovations as S/G/C introduced.
Also, 2 f*cking regions, Johto and Kanto... that's just too great.
