And did those feet, in non-ancient times, walk upon non-England's non-mountains...

Event Info

Greg Lake "Songs of a Lifetime"

Sat, 04/21/2012 - 8:00pm

Guinness Black Lager Rock Series

“Songs Of A Lifetime”

Emerson, Lake & Palmer and King Crimson music, stories, Q & A

An intimate performance of one of the greatest voices and musical minds of a generation

Greg Lake is embarking on a world tour, “Songs of a Lifetime”, an intimate autobiographical musical journey in song and story. Included are many of the best-known songs from Emerson Lake and Palmer and King Crimson, along with story-teller style commentary by Greg about his entire life and career.

Based on a successful tour last year, where Greg interacted with the audience to tell them stories, sing songs and answer questions, there has been great demand for a repeat performance where the freedom and intimacy of the format allows for a different, intriguing show at each venue.

The audience is taken on a journey through the legend’s life and times in such a way that they feel as if they are part of the journey. The carefully selected song list will also feature songs by other artists that have influenced Lake’s musical career over the years.

Unique recollections of such greats as Ringo Starr, Jimi Hendrix, and Elvis are skilfully woven throughout the performance.

Greg’s dialog with the audience throughout the show creates moments of high impact and contrasting personal intimacy, all of which have been the hallmark of Lake’s career. Containing everything from humour right through to moments high drama, all elements combined to give the audience an intimate insight into one of the most outstanding and recognisable voices of our generation.  This rare and intimate performance is a crowd pleaser.

Ticket Price $75.00

Hmm, if he's going for 75 I'm thinking he won't be playing the Variety, more likely Chastain Park.  (info above from CT)  April would be a good time for an outdoor show here, I just don't like Chastain and $75 is out of my price range. Embarrassed  If he does a DVD from this tour, I'd go for it.

Really? $75/ticket? Had no idea Greg Lake was into comedy! I'm guessing reduced ticket prices will kick in closer to showtime.

Funny.  The Wilbur Theater in Boston books mostly comedy these days.
$75 - too much.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

We are not your "cousins" we are the people who told your silly tart of a Queen, to "pack sand" way back in 1776.
But we do thank you for your clever language, which we Americans have fine tuned a bit.

Seriously, we Americans will always be indebted to the ever-charming English for giving us the likes of ELP.

:)

About Greg's weight that you made a funny about, stick to Monty Python laddie, you won't go wrong.

My wife and I will be enjoying his fine tenor (albeit aged quite a bit) on one fine evening in April.

C'est La Vie.

Cheers,

Dennismoore

P.S.  Thanks to the original poster for the heads up about Greg touring.
