I am wanting a top 10 list of the very best of  Krautrock - the very best songs!

I am only new to the genre so unfamiliar with a lot of it.

so far the bands in mind are:

Can - Oh Yeah, Paperhouse, Spray
Faust - Giggy Smile
Amon Duul II - Chewing Gum Telegram
Gila - Aggresson
Neu! -  Im Glück
Dzyan - Electric Silence, For Earthly Thinking

thats 10 songs - poor list I know but can you Kraut experts help me out here?

Any others?

recommendations of songs for
Ash Ra Temple - ?

others?

There is so much variety in many of these albums that picking individual songs can give a very misleading impression, but as you ask -

A.R. & Machines - Globus
Amon Duul II - Archangel's Thunderbird
Can -Dying Butterfly
Faust - Knochentanz
Cluster -Live In Der Fabrik
Tangerine Dream - Journey Through A Burning Brain
Guru Guru - Stone In
Neu! - Negativland
Walter Wegmuller - Der Wagen
Sergius Golowin -Der Hoch-Zeit

Hi,

Hard list to think about ... can we make this easier, like listing albums?

In no specific order:
Amon Duul 2 - Yeti (the title piece from the album)
Amon Duul 2 - Apocaliptyc Bore (Vive La Trance)
Can - Bel Air (Future Days)
Can - Side 2 of Soon Over Babbalooma (the two pieces together)
Tangerine Dream - Mysterious Semblance at the Strand of Nightmares (Phaedra)
Guru Guru - First four albums.
Ash Ra Tempel - Jenseits (Join Inn)
Ash Ra Tempel - Ocean of Tenderness (New Age of Earth)
Grobbschnitt - Solar Music Live (in its entirety off the remastered CD)
Edgar Froese - Epsilon in Malaysian Pale
Klaus Schulze - Mirage
Robert Schroeder - Floating Music (the original LP that can be played at 33 and 45rpm)
Eberhard Schoenner - TranceFormation (gave Gregorian Chants a nice touch!)
Popol Vuh - Can't make up my mind ... too many of the albums!
Cosmic Jokers - Cosmic Joy
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
