The Kevin Moore era (Awake, I&W, WDADU) and then
Scenes from a Memory Train of Thought Falling Into Infinity Octavarium A Change of Seasons
and the rest of them, with The Astonishing at the end, hitting rock bottom.

I began to lose interest with Black Clouds and Silver Linings and totally lost interest with A Dramatic Turn of Events. The main problem for me is a lack of growth - Too much sameness has crept into their sound to maintain my attention.

Well....it's the proggiest they've ever been. Rudess steals the show, LaBrie's voice is quite good in this one...hell, they even added a bit of tango (Lord Nafaryus)!. You see, The Astonishing is a misunderstood album. Dream Theater fans are not the intended target, and the intended target is not known for liking DT that much. I really think it's an amazing record that deserves a higher score here in the archives.
